Everything we do boils down to judgement. If you called it - it's a foul. If you didn't - it was not.

Bu talking with, explaining and justifying to coachs (worse to big ego ones, as you described) is a slippery slope.

Know the rules, study the game, execute to the best of your abilities and judgement.

Don't let personalities interfere. I bet the other coach thought the T was the best call made all night.
