Here is a situation for you. Middle school boys BB, overtime. The officials have the jumpers lined up the wrong direction for the start of overtime. The first team (team A) that secured posession however ends up going down and scores in the correct basket. Then Team B takes the ball up court towards their correct basket and then has the ball stolen from them. While team A is heading for another score their front court, the coach from Team B gets the officials attention. The officials end up stoping the game where the coach explained to the officials what has just happened. That the jumpers were on the wrong side. No one scored in the wrong basket.
The officals then took away the points and rejumped the ball with the jumpers lined up on the correct side. What do you think? |

Wow, I think they should have left it all alone and continued from where they stopped the game. No reason and no basis to re jump and wipe out the points. They went to the correct baskets, they made it bigger than it needed to be...but I bet they are more observant in the next jump ball situation
