A1 is fouled by B1, but not in an intentional or excessive manner. A6 (not in the game) leaves the bench area. A6 is ejected, but the fight rule is not enacted.

Questions:

1. Are there two free throws given to B because of A6's ejection?

2. If yes, is this handled in the "point-of-interruption" manner (college)?

3. If yes, is this handled with two shots for A1; then two shots for B2 (because of A6's ejection); then Team A ball at the division line opposite the scoretable (high school)?

4. Is A6 restricted from playing in the A's next game?

Different States may have different rules regarding players who are ejected. This is how we would handle your situation in a High School game in Pennsylvania:

1. A6 is ejected and will sit out the next game.

2. If A were in the bonus, A1 would shoot FTs (1 and 1 or 2, depending on the foul count), no other players on the lane.

3. A player from B will shoot 2 FTs, no other players on the lane.

4. B will inbound from mid court opposite the table.

5. Refs get to do paperwork after the game to report the situation.

If fight rule is not enacted why was player ejected? Should just be a technical foul. And all the original post said was that the player was ejected so why would B get to shoot any shots? Ejections in and of them self do not award shots. Shots are usually taken because a technical foul which proceeds most ejections. Guess we need a little more clarification on exactly what was called and why.

NCAA: Eject the offender, but no other penalty (T, throws, suspension). Resume the game as if A6 hadn't left the bench (i.e., with the penalty for the foul on B1)
