I would agree with you all about ignoring the player if there was less than one minute to play, but when there are three minutes or more left as in Chuck's play, I think that you have to assess the technical. There is way too much time left in the game for more things to happen in the game and the technical sends a message.
Yeah, it sends a message all right. I happen to like my message better.

I agree with Dan as well. Just laugh it off and walk away.

Peace

I guess I am just old fashioned and expect the players to show respect for adults. I know that if one of my sons popped off to an official like that my son would be coming out the game. It would not matter whether the official T'ed him or not, because if my son's coach doesn't yank him out of the game, I would.

I think that we as a society have let civility and sportsmanship slid too much. If we as a society except the excuse that everybody does it, then we deserve to be disrespected by others.

I'm not out there trying to right society. I'm just out there calling the game at hand. The kid's team is getting waxed. He makes a little comment out of frustration that isn't personal. I just ignore him.
