DBREF,
Why would you want to drive 62 miles in traffic to do a basketball game? Do you not have enough schools in your area? |

Whats it like to work in the DC area? I was up there this summer for a week "vacation" and I wondered what it would be like to live and referee up there. Come to think of it. I didnt see any schools directly in the DC area.

Here in San Diego, CA our fees for a varsity game are $55 and a JV game is $40. I have traveled out to games which have been cancelled without my knowledge, and I have always been paid for them.

Whether or not you get paid has nothing to do with the money -- it has to do with respect for your time and effort. Also, when I schedule a game that gets canceled, frequently I could've worked a different game instead, but blocked off my schedule since I already had a game booked.
If a school can get away without paying for someone that drives to the school, what incentive do they have to call in a timely manner? Rich |
Do youse guys pay the schools
or the assignor, for that matter, if you miss the game?

Turns out he came in on a pogo stick. [/B][/QUOTE]Chuckie McBoingBoing! The picture of him on a pogo stick, with a referee's shirt on and his whistle flying, just a hoppin' down the freeway just flashed through my mind. :D Nah, I think that he probably came via his usual way: http://www.seussville.com/seussville...rt/scooter.gif [Edited by Jurassic Referee on Dec 21st, 2003 at 04:14 AM] |
