Actually, you probably see more false multiples and false doubles than you actually realize.
Case: You have a foul on B2 which put's A1 on the line for 2. Then during the last FT, A2 fouls B5 before the ball is touched on the rebound. That is a false double. If B5 fouled A2 during that same rebound, it would be a false multiple.
Essentially, if you have two fouls that occur with the same amount of time showing on the clock (not necessarily at the same time), you either have a false multipe or a false double. The first foul kills the clock and the second foul occurs before the clock is restarted.
