I recognize that on a FT, Lane #1 (nearest the baseline) "Must" be filled with the defense. Lanes #2 & #3 fall into a "May" category. Does this mean that if the remaining offensive and defensive players decided to reverse the norm... I.e. the defense took position in lane #2 and the offense in lane #3... and they were ok with it, we should play on? Or are we suppose to reverse them?

Give the offense the option. If they pass, play on.
