Hey Guys!! I'm just now logging back after taking the off season away from the board.

I haven't picked up a new rule book yet, so I was wondering if someone could outline changes to this new BB season. (I'm referring to NFHS rules.)

Thanks in advance!!

Paul

Welcome Back!

I am not going to elaborate on all the changes, but the "hot" topic seems to be the clarification of the BLARGE when the OOB line is involved.

Cliff notes version : IF the defender's foot is on or outside the OOB line the defender cannot have legal guarding position, therefore if contact occurs it is automatically a "Block."

You can read more about it at this location:
http://www.nfhs.org/sports/basketball_interp.htm

I'll let others explain the 4 and 2 Free Throw change.

The free throw lineup is changed, and a diagram is available at FIBAAMERICA.com.

Diagram 14 of the 2000 FIBA rule book shows the diagram of the lane positions.

As the game goes global, the rules are slowly but surely becoming one standard set of rules.

Why do you think "the rules are slowly but surely becoming one standard set of rules?" I'm just curious.

Also, Paul asked about NFHS, FIBA.
