Forum Search disabled- why?

Before I ask a question, I like to do a search to see what has been said on that issue before. I tried that today, and I got a message saying the search function has been disabled by the administrator.

If this is a long term thing, then expect to rehash things that have been err- hashed? Not everyone reads the forum every day like you lifers, some of us have real jobs. Ok, not me, but I am sure some people have real jobs
