Shot Clock ...
Quote:
Officials' General Duties: Use the shot clock to administer the 10-second backcourt count. The 10-second count shall begin when the ball touches, or is legally touched by, a player on the court … No shot clock (entire state, junior varsity games, freshman games, middle school games, etc.) means reverting back to the "old" ten second rule (the only rule officially still "on the books"): NFHS 9-8: A player shall not be, nor may his/her team be, in continuous control of the ball which is in his/her backcourt for 10 seconds. Team control comes from player control, which comes from holding or dribbling (not just touching). |
