Excellent.
After more than thirty years in the classroom, I have a plethora of middle school jokes.
Every year my eighth graders were asked by their U.S. History teacher to pick a U.S. president and write "president report". The students would enter my science class talking about which president they would choose. I always suggested my favorite president, Benjamin Franklin, who before becoming president, invented the lightning rod, bifocals, and the Franklin stove, was a printer and a publisher, founded post offices and libraries, and studied electricity and ocean currents. And, after all, he is famously pictured on the one-hundred dollar bill.
Every year a few students would take me seriously, some middle school kids can be overly trusting of teachers and can be very gullible. After a few years of doing this the history teacher actually came down to my science classroom one day and scolded me in front of my students.
I deserved it.
