3rd place game? Oregon has them and even a 4th place game. They award 1st to 6th places.

I thought secondary defenders were for the plays in the lane? This is not in the lane. Either the lead gets over to that side of the court so it is in his primary or he lays off this call to the center official as he sees the entire thing. I think the center probably had some issue with the lead on this play.

Peace

There is nothing magic about tracking a defender through your primary to a point just outside the lane. The official tracking that player still has a far better idea of how that player got there than someone else, even if he passed an arbitrary line. The whole concept is that the C would be busy with the primary defender and wouldn't usually be able to pick up a secondary defender reliably. Nothing in this play changes that.

Oh -- that's terrible. Our state does it right.

If you award less you're no being inclusive enough. If you award more, you're begin too restrictive.

Insert your own blue font tags around the above.

I prefer the state of most confusion! ;)

Camron please explain to me the need for a 4th place game? I thought the loser of the third place game came in fourth place! :D

Need? Not my department. I can't say that it is needed. I am only stating that it exists.

As for who is 4th, it isn't the loser of the 3rd place.

It is partially a double elimination bracket with the winner of the consolation bracket taking 4th. The loser of the 3rd place game gets 5th. The loser of the 4th place game takes 6th. Those in the quarter finals that don't win a game (lose their first two) just go home.

L was late getting his spot which caused a late close down. L should have never signaled PC. Have a patient whistle and make eye contact with the C. That would have told him the C has a different call from a different angle. Talk it over and work as a team to get the call correct. IMHO, the defender never established LGP, feet and body were still moving.
