Hoka's are a great running shoe. Super light, Max cushion. Also the drop from heel to toe is about 5mm in most of them. Air max are about 14. I bought a pair of the Bondi 5s when my knee was giving me some issues. Their not real pretty and i just couldnt get much traction out of them. Havnt really worn them much more for officiating.

I'll be using a pair in the upcoming season. Yes, they're a tad pricey, and not the best looking. However, they are comfy, light, and offer good support which is what I'm more interested in. I've done some cross training in them, and they've been fine. Also, I've being wearing them for volleyball due to the support and the cushioning of the shoe.

PS My other shoe is an Ascics which I really like.

Doesn't anyone make an high top officiating shoe anymore? I need at least a mid-high if not a complete high top. I never been able to have my ankles taped because no matter how good the taper is, taping always cuts of the circulation to my feet, and it is getting more and more difficult to find a light weight tie up ankle brace.

It looks like it is actually a little higher that a mid-high. They do look good.

Under armour shoes, as general statement, don't seem to have much cushion. Hard. To me anyway.

They make some pretty fancy ankle braces this day and age. U probably get better support from one of those. Talk to a Physical therapy place or something. They shoujd know all the latest.
