Phenomenal call. #45 white pushes the Texas player into his teammate. May not seem like much but enough to call a foul IMO.

I've now watched it five times, plus stopping and starting the slo-mo replay in the video. There just isn't a push by W45.

Not as obvious a foul as we might prefer, but I can definitely see why the official called it. I would say this is defendable by a supervisor and not as bad as the announcers and WVU coaches think.

If it were the L making the call, I might accept that. Since it was the T, there is no chance he could have seen such a thing from where he was. He called the collision.

The push that was there was before the ball came off the rim...and that was too far in the past to be what he called.

He called the foul on W45. Big heavier fellow. Not the fellow under the basket. W45 has two hands on him in paint. T has a good look at that…but that isn't what sent the defender into the other player. he was going after ball on his own not as result of being pushed.

I don't see a foul worth calling here, and if there was/is one it should have come from the L or maybe the C, not the bailing T who sees 2 players crash and fall (and happen to be on the same team).

I admit I didn't see this push until about the 3rd viewing, but even so, I still think that the push was not what sent that player into his teammate, I think he was going after that rebound and the contact was inevitable

I looked at this a lot closer. What do you think now?

I'm not one to say the official was wrong, because I can't see things from his angle, but looking at the video I don't see enough for a foul call here.

I think this is one instance of trying to fit a foul called to a situation. I don't see displacement that causes this collision.

Slo-mo zoomed in? Not a foul. But it sure looks like a foul in real time because of the players extension of the arms. It's not a terrible miss.

I get why it's missed -- the official saw part of it -- or saw it in his periphery.

Anyone who says they haven't been there, done that, is delusional.

I totally agree and think he thought he saw the entire thing. And maybe he did, but we got the benefit of the replay and thinking at the beginning that it was not a foul.

Peace
