Looks like he wishes he would've been a bit more patient on that.

Works for me.

it is foul

Re-bounder in the air!

Pushed from behind "with both hands" not hard, but hard enough to take the re-bounder for an airborne flight from one side of the basket to the other.

Rich, both hands, Automatic?

Is it a ball handler? No.

That answers your question, too.

The foul was before the ball went through the basket. Should have counted the basket and assessed the foul. (Well, should have had a more patient whistle, but given that he didn't ....)

Good IW declaration. Been there, done that. Every once in a while you make such an impatient or nonsensical call that not even your dog would believe you when you explained it to him.

So....he did the right thing. Told the coach, "I completely gooned that up, my bad, free throw was good and POI is a throw-in to B."

And life went on. Good result.

What do you suppose he would have decided to do if the FT was missed?

I think its easy if it's missed, I think the only reason he rescinded the foul was because he realized it was a no-impact call on the game when it goes through. If it misses, he's got a foul. Simple.

Look at the score at the start and end of the clip . . .

Maybe. VA's score went from 44 to 45, at least on the televised score.

What makes you think he didn't count it?

He was calling a foul, so nothing on the situation would have take away the basket, unless he had a foul before the shot was attempted (on the offense). He must clearly be heard saying what he was doing as it appears his partner went over to make it clear to count the basket. I do not trust TV people to know what is even going on most of the time.

Peace

I agree with this. Valentine failing to follow the rules.

What rule says he can't declare his whistle inadvertent?

Probably his emphatic waving before the camera cuts away.
