After you said what you said ... there should be no more on and on every time down the court. You said it was done. Apparently you didn't mean it. Next time, whatever the circumstance, if you say it's done ... follow through. Otherwise, "We're done" is meaningless, and you might as well simply never say it.

I had a veteran referee say that to me when the rule came out. As the younger guy I held my tongue, even though I knew he was wrong.

These dotted semicircle lines in the lane are vestiges from when we had three jump ball circles. That's right, we had three different jump ball circles and a lot more than just one jump ball in a game. We had literally a dozen, maybe a few more, jump balls in girls freshman games back then. Thank God for the invention of the alternating possession arrow.
