Lifting up player
Saw a video the other day, inbound play on the end line, player A1 lifts up A2 as A2 catches the inbound pass way above everyone else and puts the ball in the basket. Having trouble finding a case book play on this for NFHS. Is there one and if so what's the penalty?

In the unlikely event that this ever occurs in one of my games, on whom would I assess the T? The rule forbids both "lifting" and "climbing," but a player can't "climb on" unless a teammate "lifts" and vice versa. Penalizing both players for the same act seems disproportionate.

To Secure Greater Height ...
Quote:
If a player folds his fingers together and gives a "boost" to his teammate, then he is charged with the technical foul for lifting. If a player climbs up onto the shoulders of a teammate, then the climber gets charged with the technical foul. If they're both involved, charge the technical foul to the player that secured the greatest height. ![]()

What would your call be if A1 lifts A2 up and tosses him into the air then A2 catches the inbound pass while in the air and comes down with the ball and himself through the hoop? NF rules

Lifting up player
Not sure if OP is referring to this - http://deadspin.com/sadly-youre-not-...yer-1773359293. It was on Deadspin Wed. Saw it, saw it was missed and clear and didn't really think to post it on here because didn't think there was much to discuss.
League even sent out a memo saying the refs booted the call and should have waved the basket and assessed a T. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
