T didn't see it because he would've been watching the on-ball matchup in his primary prior to the entry pass.

L could've/should've seen it, but I think he was straightlined.

I know I wouldn't have been looking over there as the C... but that's why he's working that game and I wasn't.

What a maroon. What an embezzle. What an ignoranamus. What a ca-ra-ra-goon-de-yay.

Anyone able to post more of this play? I'm curious as to why he was pinched down on the paint so far.

I realize that there wasn't a lot going on in his primary, but there were 3 matchups in or in very close proximity to his primary when he made that call. I don't mind people reaching to get elephants in my pca, but that was a pretty egregious reach IMO. With that being said, it was the right call and IDK how the L missed that. He had two opportunities to call that hook on the offensive player and didn't make either.

Like others said, the Lead was straightlined and the Trail was officiating the on-ball defender with the ball handler. The Center was looking straight through the lane to the play and had a great look at it.

I don't see any competitive matchups in his PCA when the play develops and happens.

I didn't notice who the Lead was, but the Trail and Center are arguably the two best officials in college basketball. Not saying they can't miss stuff, but this isn't their first rodeo.

Who, the Lead? Why wouldn't he be?

Because if he's 2 steps to his right, he doesn't get straightlined and the PSU coach likely doesn't get ejected because he's pissed about the C making a call across the paint.

Who's to say he wouldn't have gotten ejected anyway? Chambers is a notorious crybaby.

True. But it was a good call and there's nothing there worth getting ejected over other than the C reaching across to get that one. I'm not excusing his actions by any means, but I don't think he reacts that way if the L is in a little better position to see one of the two hooks by the offensive player.

"other than?" That's not worth getting ejected for, either. If he gets himself tossed for that crap, he was on edge already. Whether the C or L gets it isn't going to help, because he's not likely thinking it through this clearly when he starts seeing red.

I've heard several college officials talk about the hook play here needing to be called by C. This is slightly odd because he hooks him on the entry pass rather than a spin to the bucket, but C still has the best look here.

He apparently spends more time drawing up that play than actually coaching.
