Allen trips an opponent, again.

Let the Duke criticism begin.

Duke Blue Devils star Grayson Allen seen tripping another opponent in win over Florida State Seminoles

It looked like official behind play turned head as tripped player was hitting the floor but couldn't they go to monitor to see if there was anything intentional that caused the fall?

Raymond Fri Feb 26, 2016 07:22am

Go to the monitor and give him a dead ball contact technical

I don't see anything wrong here, it was just a gritty player fighting for every advantage. He just wants to win, what's wrong with that?

Now where did I put that Duke alumni magazine? :)

In all seriousness, yea, that's a punk move. Probably should sit a game or at least a half for that. I doubt WeaselFace does anything about it though.

This looked like it was during a live ball. For nfhs, would this just be an Int flagrant?

I LOVE Duke and Grayson is one of my fave guys but this cheapo crap needs to stop. It's bush league and he doesn't need to engage in it. He has been yapping to refs a lot more recently too. Just knock it off and play a clean game already.

Impossible.

It's either an Intentional Personal foul or a Flagrant Personal foul. (I didn't watch the video, so I have no opinion)

NFHS -> Int if live / T if dead
NCAAM -> FF1 if live / dead ball contact T if dead

Either way the team will get the ball back the only difference is the spot of the inbounds.

I saw the replay. I would have had the intentional PF. If my partner went with a flagrant, I'd have no problem with that call either.

In NCAAM this doesn't exist see my options above. The call would also depend on the status of the ball.

Sorry. I didn't see your post until after I made my post.

I agree with you. You must know the ball status so you the correct foul to call. I replayed the video link, and it didn't show me clearly if the ball was live or dead. So I can't rule as to whether I'd have a personal or a technical foul. Personal = live, and Technical = dead.

Definite punk move.

The young man needs to be sat down. If there's no response from Duke staff/officials, they're marking themselves pretty distinctly on the moral compass. Should be interesting to see where they put themselves on the scale since other schools recently have taken their own steps for poor behavior.

Don't hold your breath. I'll bet Col. Jessup ordered the code red.

Is he also really so stupid as to not realize how many cameras are rolling in that arena that are picking up his every move? And that even if he "gets away with it" during the game, he continues to perpetuate the belief that Duke is a bunch of smug a$$h01es who think they can get away with anything?
