I'm surprised. Does Mrs. Mick know about this?

Please note that I refrained from that bit of "humor". ;) Congrats, mick!

A third of a century! Wow!! :)

We've managed 20 but sometimes it feels like 33, at least that's what my wife says! :D

BTW, nothing but wind up in NY so far

Trust me - it's better to have the hot air in D.C. We're used to it, but sometimes it can get dangerous in the small towns and state fairs of America.

dblref, are you still in No. Va.?
You betcha! Enjoying a 4-day weekend. I am in Manassas, about 35 miles west of DC and my neighborhood suffered very little damage. I had 2 broken branches and a gazillion leaves and small pieces of branches in my yard. Lights flickered a few time, but did not lose power. From the 2nd house to the left of me, there was no power for a couple of blocks. Apparently they are on a different grid. My younger son lives another 10 miles west and he also had no problems. Lost cable (and my internet access) for about 4 hours today but everything is ok. I feel really sorry for those people that lost everything. I can't imagine how they must feel. Hope everyone here is ok.

Ah, yes - the beauty of living on the same power grid as the White House. :p

All systems go Captain

Given my lack of attentiveness on the board, it may have appeared we had an outage! Got lucky again in our neighborhood - no power lost, but got two days in the work free zone! Gotta love Club Fed. And kids are out of school again today because half the schools in the county have no power.

I was like dblref, coupla flickers, but the lights (and my Sunday Ticket) were energized. Paying 200 smackers for those NFL games, I better keep my power on Sundays, at least until January :)

Whoa...$200 per game! Man, I wouldn't pay $200 to see Madonna kiss Britney Spears...

Hawks Coach Mon Sep 22, 2003 03:33pm

It's for the season, not per game. But every game counts, and they don't refund me for weekends lost to hurricanes.
