You are correct, thanks

That said. I'm with the others. If I move over so late as L that the others don't recognize it, I move back.

If I move over early and the others don't recognize it, I fix it as the new T.

It's almost always easier for the new T to fix this and fill in.

I don't think there is a reason to pregame this. If I am the lead and I go late and neither of the other officials notice, I'll slide back as I work my way up court. However, if only one of the other officials noticed and we have a situation where we have 2 Cs moving down the court with me trailing behind one of them as the new T, I'm yelling at whoever is in front of me at that moment telling him to go.

I will add that in the "opposite" situation where we have two new-Ls, then the one on the T's side yells across the lane and the other moves back to c.

but, New T needs to be aware that the other two officials might recognize the conflict and adjust on their own and then the new T might need to go across the court.

Most important, keep officiating during all this. ;)

BTW,

I don't post much on this site (hopefully more in the future) but I read and learn a lot from all of you guys. It is a great tool to have and I have turned other officials on to the site.

Good point, court awareness is key to fill in the missed rotation, but always keep officiating.

Funny you cite this situation today. This exact same thing happened to me as C last night for the first time in a long time. Partner behind me simply said, "Randy, go down." I did, and no one skipped a beat and, more importantly, nobody missed anything that shoulda gotten called.
On a surprisingly late rotation as L I've also angled back over as new T when I realized my partners didn't catch the rotation.
This is NOT the result of ballwatching C's or T's, which is the most prevalent cause of missing rotations. Just an infrequent glitch that occurs. No biggie. Not common. Fix it and go on.
Nice discussion.

Most missed rotations result in 2 new Leads. I pregame that the Lead who recognizes the error should fall back to C. The Trail should see all this transpiring and cross over if needed. Not a fan of yelling across the court.

Had a missed rotation once that led to all three on the same side. I was T, and neither I or the C saw the L rotate. Fast break the other way, opposite from me. At the time, I was working on rotating right away to get the best look at the break as lead, and I was ahead of the play enough to do it. I got over, looked up and saw both partners on the same side of the court.

That's what happens when you try to work Cadillac with 3 officials. :)
