My first varsity game was between 2 girls games that were a combined 2-14 at the time. Maybe 30 people in the gym. I'm assigned with our board's tough guy and the other is our longest serving member (42 years). Needless to say, I'm scared to death.

They go to put their stuff in the back of my wife's mini-van and the automatic door comes down right on the senior board member's head. I thought he was out. Luckily, he was fine aside from a bump and the game was relatively easy & forgettable, but I thought my varsity career was over before it officially started.
