My name is Cristian Mihaescu and I am a 1-st league referee in Romania. I shall come in USA for one year. I am interested to take part at basketball games as a visitor. Me and my referee coleagues from Romania are very interested in knowing your rules as a comparison to FIBA.
Is there any possibility for be to officiate? |

Hi Christian,
Welcome to the board. It might help us to give you some advice if we knew where you will be in the US, and what time of year. Do you know the details of your visit yet?

IAABO has a huge board in the DC area. You can contact the secretary-treasurer by e-mail at [email protected] (according to the latest IAABO handbook).
If it is like a lot of boards, there may be classes in October-November for new candidates. You will probably be required to pass the NFHS (Nationhal Federation of High Schools) exam, although I am not sure about that. I suggest that you contact Mike to find out what you need to do to ref games. Good luck. |

C'mon Padge, let the guy come and teach you how REAL basketball is refereed
How y'all doing anyway? Sadly between working, studying and moving 1000kms from my home town, I have had to give up refereeing this year. Hence my lack of visits to the board. I am hoping to get back into hoops at the end of this year, so I will keep popping my head (or should that be fingers?) in here to keep up to date with all you Seppos. Take care, Duane
