The longer you do this and the higher you go, the less officials talk about "where to stand" or "what mechanic is used."

Exactly. Everyone should just know that stuff at some level. If not, they shouldn't be at that level. And I'd say that point should be upper HS level officiating.

Rarely do I have a pre-game where we discuss where we stand either. Very rare.
