WNBA admits deciding call in Lynx game was wrong - StarTribune.com

Not sure how this happens at the professional level.

Fair or foul: Rough first month for WNBA officials

I'd like to say "it happens," but I was surprised when I saw the call. Obviously I'm only speculating but my guess is the official (Amy Bonner) just jumped the gun. It's a classic case of calling outside of your area and making a mistake. The play took place in the L's primary and he didn't have a whistle. The T was starting to move in transition as she made the call.

The game was called well as a whole, which makes that whistle so much more egregious.

There may be a little burnout at the start of the WNBA season before they get into a flow.

....off t but I wish the WNBA would lower the rims to 9 feet. The play would be improved a lot. I used to watch some games but now I can't be bothered.

I do not think burnout has anything to do with this. I think there are just some officials in that league that are not that good. The way the WNBA is used often is evidence of this fact IMO.

Also not all the officials that work the WNBA are high level officials at the NBA level.
