The camera angle was not the best. But it does show how fast that ball comes in there, but the camera distorts the look that you would actually get.

If the film maker had a look at this website, they'd probably feel the same way umpires feel when fans talk about them. Start at perfect and get better.

What type of camera is this? I'd be interested to see how it is mounted.

Maybe, but not the issue. The camera angle really distorts what the umpire is looking at. Actually the camera would be better if they used the camera type that the WNBA used a couple of months ago when an official was calling the game. The camera was over the official's eye and gave a first person view and showed what the official was actually looking at. This is mounted somewhere on the hat and looks nothing like the view we would be seeing while umpiring.

It's most likely a GoPro camera. It is a small HD camera that was designed for mounting in extreme areas. They come with mounting hardware that can go almost anywhere
