I have just made my first visit to Cooperstown to see the Baseball Hall of Fame. Great trip. I also saw the Dreams Park where weekly tournments are played from June through August for U12 traveling teams. I visited their web site and saw where you can apply to umpire during any of the weeks. My question is has anyone umpired there and do you have any information that you could pass along. Based on what I see it looks to be a fun week of umpiring.
Thanks

I was supposed to go there for two weeks this year, but the rain prevented me from doing so with sectional/regional PONY games.
Its a great deal though. Free lodging and food, and you get to call some great ball. Plus, they give you free tickets to the BHOF. If thats not enough, its just a nice place to visit. The only costs you will have are laundry, incidentals, and transportation, otherwise, have fun, relax, call some games. Also, they give you experience with all sorts of mechanics including crew-work from 2- 6 person.

cooperstown dreamspark umpires
i've been to cdp the last three years. i can't give it a higher reccomendation. the ball is excellent. the setting is fantastic. the umpiring fellowship is something i can't describe. i go back the same week each year to renew aquaintances with umps of all levels from all over the USA. if you get a chance to go, do it. no matter what level you are, where you're from, or what you're used to you'll love it.
