No Johnny I am not a newer ump, doing this close to 35 years....and the part about a booming voice was to clarify that if I would have called foul the whole park hears it. I pointed fair 3 times emphatically and was shocked to face infield and partner was calling foul back turned to me. And he is not a newbie either, perhaps a brain fart I don't know....and yes I was not very polite to him after the game in parking lot, I think he will remember this conversation for some time.....scathing to say the least.
