This is my secnd year umpiring and I love it. I have been told that I have good basic skills and I want to improve. I know their camps/clinics like Joe Brinkman and Harry W. But are there other clinics that meet for less than 7 days or 5 weeks. I have seen the Sund Desert Camp in Charlotte and the Mid Amercan but find it hard to locate others.

Thanks

Slovell

I see that you are from New Jersey. The Northeast Umpires Clinic is held in Flemington. There is a three day advanced clinic in November and a four day basic clinic in February. It is run by Matt Hollowel a MLB fill-in. He always has a MLB ump to help and a variety of minor league umpires, including several other MLB fill-ins and AAA umpires. I've been to both and they have been excellent.

Question

Are there any organizations in Southern California that would come onsite and give a one-day seminar to junior umpires involved in working LL games? I am involved with a BoD for a league in So. Cal. and would like to give our Junior Umpires the opportunity to learn as much as possible throughout the season.

Russ.
