Just a baseball term, not an official definition.

There are also terms, walk off single(double, triple) and I have even heard the term, walk off base on balls. Peace

I know this is a baseball site. However, in ASA slow pitch softball, in several divisions, when a home run is hit, the batter and all runners on base go to the dugout, with all runs appropriate scored. No one has to run the bases. I don't know if this context is relevant to you, or not.

here is the official definition
Quote:
walk-off home run (n) a home run by the home team in the bottom of the ninth inning or in an extra inning that ends the game. |

|||
In some forms of ASA softball, a home run results in an out. Go figure!!

The visiting team can only "walk off" the field in disgust and dismay.
