Tee, I don't feel I was overly critical.

I felt the questions (and answers) were simplistic to any veteran umpire and based upon the following:

If 3rd out appeal is a force, nobody scores.

If 3rd out appeal is not a force, all runs scored by runners on base ahead of the appealed runner count. Those runs scored by subsequent runners to the appealed runner do not count.

Tee, I'm not being judgmental as I mentioned no names.
I was just saying that I was surprised at some of the "misses."
To edify, yes, that included some of the WHO, but it also included the total number of misses........

I'd have been no less surprised by any veteran umpire trying to explain to me an award of 1+1 or that the hands were part of the bat. IMO, this is bare basics a veteran umpire should know. Still, even veteran umpires manage an occasional brainfart. I can tell you that from experience.....

T,

Just answer the question given and quit attempting elitism by judging others inputs.

When did God make you the say all of who can say what? If you don't have something nice....

I don't think anyone took that comment as elitism. Only you. Maybe something deeper lurking inside? Jealousy? Because you didn't say it first?

As the guy who asked the question, I must admit that I hesitated because I felt like I should know the answer but I didn't. I am glad I asked because not only did I get an answer, I have also learned the basic principle which I can apply to other situations.

Calm down, everybody. Let's assume the best motives of our fellow posters.

I think sometimes people are in a hurry and don't always choose the right word or the best way to say something, but let's act as if we're in polite company.
