Shining the titanium mask
Its the off season, but I'm trying to figure out how to shine my nike titanium mask like the pros.
Anyone have any sucess in shining up your mask? I'm told Jim Wolf uses a very fine sandpaper to make his shine.....who knows if thats the truth. |
A lot of titanium bicycle makers recomment using Lemon Pledge on their frames.
I don't know why, aside from trying to look like MLB guys, you'd want a shiney, reflective frame. I've dulled the finish on a couple of my frames, because the shine was distracting. |

Or we could be all biting the hook right now, as it was baited and cast in our direction. |

No, I didn't get it from Ebay, although I do follow those auctions to see how high it gets.
I'm not the type of umpire that likes to bring attention to myself, but I do have to admit that shining my mask up would create just that. If I can look and act like a pro, then half the battle is won. Equipment and uniform are no exceptions. I guess no one has tried shining even their Wilson titanium? |

I believe Tim is referring to this recently concluded eBay auction: NIKE TITANIUM CATCHERS MASK | eBay The seller advertised it as a Nike Titanium when it was a Wilson frame with some beat-up Nike pads on it. Some sucker appears to have paid $355 for it. JM |
