Opps - Ball tossed to fans - only 2 outs

What's amusing to me is that the players run to the wall to get the ball back... like it's going to make a difference!!

Looks like the ball girl caught it. This means it's "place it as they would have ended" instead of the automatic 2 bases.

Yup, 3.15. Would be an automatic 2 I suppose if the ball boy / girl reached up to block the ball from going into the stands. Not the case here.

Well, Hudson did have a concussion not long ago. Maybe he still has some residual effects.

Of course. The "fixing it" part of the rule would have taken into effect that the ball would have gone OOP.
