I agree that the umpires have a better view than the fans. Unfortunately Sports center didn't show a replay of the call at first base, but they did show the one at second base, and it was very obvious. Depsite their better view sometimes umpires make completely wrong calls, but that's one of the hazards of the games. I think most umpires do their best, and that's all you can ask for.
