It sure isn't, and luck for me, i get to work with guys a lot smarter than me that love to talk about and share these types of nuggets. Everyone keeps umpiring on every play and noone has to work a lot harder, ie U2 moving over to 1B and then to 2B and then to 3B while the PU chills out.

And this is the number 1 reason I support the guy taking it on the line. So, U2 can have an option, but to be honest, there is a push for an option even if they don't change the check swing. We took a vote in a confeence meeting, coordinator asked after discussion how many wanted an option, and almost every, if not every hand went up.

in the CCA it was a change this year..U1 no is the umpire who decides/ make the decision if he goes out..the reason is U3 is already coming, so If U1 goes out, you still have a umpire in front.. CCA adopted it this year.

This is the way we've (locally) *always* done 3-person. U3 can always adjust and read off the U1 -- if the U1 goes out, U3 comes up. If the U1 starts in, the U3 can adjust and go out. It doesn't work the other way.

The change you mention (who is the "quarterback") is a change this year. I agree.

That's not what was being discussed in the conversation you quoted -- that conversation had to do with U3's positioning with R1 only.

(to be fair, I quoted both parts of a previous post, even though I only responded to the second part. I could have been more clear.)
