And that makes them just like most American businesses and corporations.

MrUmpire,

No, you were perfectly clear. My response was intended to support your assertion.

A friend of mine who is "in the business" informed me that FED does absolutely nothing to verify that the baseballs conform to spec. They do, however, require that the vendor states that the balls conform to the specs when they apply for permission to use the "mark".

1) You're not sorry.

2) It's your view of the truth. We get it. Now drop it.

It's not a big deal, Bob. And my views, as you know, are reality based, and not fantasy based.

I don't know what they are based on.

I do know the kind of response they (and any similar posts expressing views from either side of the political, etc. spectrum) gather. I do know that they (ditto) don't advance the art of umpiring. That's why they (ditto) are routinely deleted.

We can see that in the posts I've deleted since you posted this.

We're all adults. So it's always a little silly when we can't have adult exchanges.

And opening the minds and eyes of umpires should advance the art of umpiring, should it not?

I suppose I should focus on things that are possible.

Back to the topic at hand

I did some research and I came up with three manufactorer's that made FED legal baseballs. The three are Rawlings, Wilson and Diamond.

Rawlings model numbers.

R100HSNF
R100-NFHS
RNFHS

Wilson model numbers.

A1001B SST
A1010B PROSET
A1010B HS1-SST

Diamond model numbers

D1-NFHS-NY
D1-PRO-NFHS
D1-NFHS
DOL-1NFHS

These models are the only ones with the NFHS logo:

D1-NFHS-NY
D1-PRO-NFHS
D1-NFHS

The D1-NFHS-NY is the Official New York State High Baseball Coaches Association Baseball. This appears to be the only legal baseball that the State of New York uses. This could be why the protest in New York State was upheld.

Well, since I know that I just did some games with Pro Nine NFHS stamped balls, and made a post stating that I did, I did a little research of my own and came up with these:
