Except for the local high school summer league here, most of the travel tournaments are played under OBR. The 4th of July tournament that I worked Wednesday and Thursday was using OBR as well. I was waiting for a situation like MTD had and I envisioned myself having to figure out that mess with everyone screaming "The ball is dead!".

I wished HS would do that in this area. Easier to remember one set of rules.

I wish every high school just played OBR with modifications for run rules, courtesy runners, etc.

I would say 98% of the time, when a balk is called under OBR rules, everyone is going to stop like it's a dead ball (as in HS).
When the ball is hit and everyone is milling around, remind the guys and say "live ball here men! play it!" This will get the O and the D moving. |
