Yeah!

Here's a picture of me from a couple years ago. But I got too much heat and got a Platinum.

Looks like you have let the air out of the balloon and have your keys in hand. Everyone should know the strikezone is now(or was) nose to toes and dugout to dugout.

That shot of MLB umpire Bill Summers appeared in a 1959 issue of Life Magazine. I've seen an enlargement of the photo - those are not keys in his right hand, it's a brush.

yep, looking at it again it is for sure a brush...although I liked the keys line better.

I've seen it up close. It appears to be a CP designed for fat amateur umpires looking to save a buck. The protection does not match up with the Gold, Carlucci, Douglas or most other hard shells. I'd be surprised to see any pro with more than a year's experience using it.

Time will tell, I guess.

I like the new gear, myself...at least the concept and the look. Can't tell how well it protects by that.

What I really like are the new Reebok plate shoes, since they feature steel toes, and the all-black NB base shoes. About time on those.

I'm curious to know why guys are so gung-ho to want all black base shoes but have no problem in wearing plate shoes that have plenty of white on them. Personally, I don't have a preference either way, although I admit that I'd prefer my plate shoes be closer to all black than my base shoes.

So is the putdown in your post "fat" or "amateur"?

They have been around for several years.

Got my Honigs mag yesterday...not a ton of new stuff other than the plate/base shoes.

And thus the old saying, to each their own. You say potato, I say spud.

The "putdown" is the CP. Thought that was obvious. By it's design it will fit the chubbies better than other hard shells and its level of protection is best suited for amateur ball rather than professional.

Thus my original post.
