That is Hallion's strikeout call.

What was it? His called 3d strike mechanic. I think it looks all right and he has five other umpires to watch the field.
I hope this ends tomorrow so non-MLB umpires stop whining and saying, "that's not how you're supposed to do it!" I also like how we could hear him shut down the Tampa dugout. He's doing all right. |

pardon me
I work too many games to see enough baseball throughout the year..
I don't see too many games on the west coast.. If that's his bread and butter for K3, so be it... It just struck a nerve..

All of the Series umpiring has been just wonderful. I see nothing wrong at all with anything or anyone. In fact, I'm thinking of incorporating the Danley strike/appeal mechanic. They're the best umpires in the world, and they have shown it with each and every call, which so far have been 100% perfect. Like always.
Is that good? |

Why, if you are a big achiever in umpiring do you have to demean others who you think rank below you? What does it matter? Many of the top pros that I have met don't act like that, only college umpires. Why? Be more open and decent to the others who share your vocation. That's what true professionalism is.

I've always liked Hallion's punch out. He remains one of the best umpires in pro baseball. I've enjoyed watching him work since the days when he was a young skinny kid working the scissors. All you haters couldn't carry his mask out to home plate, I guarantee you that. You can rag on some of these guys, but Tom Hallion is a first class umpire.

It's easy to find a tag on a frame per frame shot, but in real time, if the glove doesn't move, then the umpire has to call it as he sees it. thanks David |
