Help on a rule

A runner was rounding second base when she was ran into by or ran into the field umpire. She scrambled safely back into second base. When the ball was dead the crew awarded the runner third base, where they judged she would have been if not for the collision. The offensive coach argued for awarding the runner home as he said he was already waving her in and she would have scored easily. The defense argued she went back to second and that is where she should stay.

Which of the three are right?

Must be softball? How in the world would the runner run into the BU I don't know, but this is not umpire interference. Sorry but she stays at second.

BU then hides for the rest of the game.

Thanks

First, any coaches arguing with umpires in a little kids game should be relieved of their duties for the rest of the day.

How do I know it's little kids? Any good umpire would know this rule, thus......

There's only two types of umpire interference, and this ain't either of 'em. Live ball, play on.

It's also on the softball board.

Like I said there, all she did was run into a part of the field (just a big pile of dirt, really). Play on.
