106 game plus 19 rainouts (rain dates) from March 18 - August 3. Took (as I usually do) the fall off -- one "alumni" game since.

Interesting. I live in the NW, and only had about 3 rainouts this year. Had 5 other games that were cancelled for whatever reasons.

Blessings from the wifesky allowed me to do 155 games and counting...got rained out of a DH this evening..that puts the rainout total to about 24....probably get rained out this weekend also...

All in all it does have side affects...knees were sore, had to do some physical therapy twice a week before going to the ballpark for 4 weeks..my back is feeling the affects as well...

Glutton for punishment? ...possibly, but I do love the game.

Okay:

Spring:
23 HS softball, 7 rainouts--bad season for us, too
9 LL baseball, all but one on the little diamond
9 LL softball

Summer (LL tournaments):
11 baseball, little diamond
3 big diamond
10 softball
(1 state softball and 2 state baseball games)

42 softball
23 baseball
Grand total: 65

76 and still going, probably end up around 90. Way down from peak of 117 about 4 years ago and reduction is on purpose. I don't count rainouts.

More than most, fewer than others.

Relaxing year

this was by far one of my most relaxing years, but a lot due to the fact that I moved to different part of the state.

But even having to get adjusted to new assignors etc., still able to have a lot of fun. Let's see had 16 HS dates, and then ended up calling more than I wanted in the summer due to a shortage of officials. Summer league (HS games) we had 14 dates and then another 12 games in state tourneys.

But being new kid on the block it was fun working with new guys and of course dealing with new coaches all the time.

I don't work games in the fall due to basketball.

Thanks
David

72.

The last 4 are this weekend for college wood bat fall tournament.

I really don't how some of you guys work so many games. The thought of working 100+ games has never crossed my mind.

I guess, different strokes....

From 3/22 - 8/31
Spring
11 rec basketball games (finishing up)
6 HS baseball paid scrimmages
36 HS games
7 tournament games
2 state hs playoff games

Summer
12 acme league(hs) games
Rainouts - 9

Total - 63 baseball games

I would do more, but it gets too hot for me in summer in the gear, so...I know, I know,.....I switch to (gulp) mens Slowpitch to finish the summer before football season.
SP games= 110

Football (just to 8/31)
3 paid scrimmages
9 games (peewee)

I have worked

100+ NCAA SB
probably an equal # of Travel and rec

8 FAll ball

1 BB and still need the 1/2 game to make my quota.

:D

Without looking at my calendar I would say I did about 110 baseball games and 1 softball game (I'm going to cut back on softball next year).

Well, if we are adding other sports.

I have done about 72 soccer games this year too. Approximately 40 more to go!

Overworked and Underpaid

3

injured, bum shoulder

3 left handed games.

Down from 150 or so.

Rich Fri Oct 03, 2008 01:56pm

I dream of officiating like Tee: 20-or-so meaningful, fun games. Put the stuff away for 9 months.

But I'm too much of a glutton for punishment, I guess :D

85 baseball games, 35 varsity basketball games (the only level I work), and about 30 football games per year.

Favorite sport these days is football, followed by basketball.

Fritz Fri Oct 03, 2008 02:28pm

Baseball - 163 so far with two more weekends to go (generally do 3 on Sat and 3 on Sun). Up about 30 games, had a lot of varsity rainouts in 2007.

Basketball - 167 to date, probably end up around 220, similar to last year.

Have to tape my address, phone number and picture of the wife & kids to the steering wheel so I don't pull into the wrong garage and sleep with the wrong woman! On second thought............:D
