Federation rule states that the defence is allowed 3 charged conferences in a regulation game. As far as I know there is no stipulation as to when these conferences can take place. I thought at one time only one conference was allowed per inning like the major league. Did the Federation change or am I just all screwed up. If there was a change when did it change.

Its been that way for at least 10 years. A coach may use all three conferences in the same inning and still not have to remove his pitcher. On the fourth conference OF THE GAME and every subsequent conference shall the pitcher be removed. There is an exception in an extra inning game where each team gets an additional conference each inning that does not carry over to the next inning.

I need to get this conference thing straight. . .
FED rules, 3 conferences per game, on the 4th conference and every subsequent conference the pitcher must be changed? OBR rules, no limit on the conferences per game, put on the second conference with any given pitcher, in the same inning, the pitcher must be removed? -- jumpmaster al |

Conferences FED
The definition of a charged conference for FED is slightly different.
A charged conference is a meeting between the coach or his representative and a player or players. (2-10-1;3-4-1) So remember if a coach requests time and has a discussion with the catcher or the infielders that is also considered a charged conference. If the offense has requested time, then defense can confer without being charged, provide they end their conference at the same time as the offense. |
