Int or OBS?

When contact occurred, the pitcher was about to pick up the ball. (Stopping the frame shows that he probably already had it.) So I'd have to go with INT, even if that third option of "nothing" was available. Not OBS.

MrUmpire,
Perhaps you did not observe the batted ball hit the F1's right foot while it was on/over fair territory. Whether you choose to rule Obstruction or Interference, this is irrevocably a FAIR ball. OBR 2.00 FED 2.00 JM

But I already made the call: Foul (And once so declared, so shall it remain.) OBR 2.00 FED 2.00 Last edited by MrUmpire; Tue Mar 25, 2008 at 12:40am. |

While under FED rules you woud be techncially correct, there is no such provision under OBR rules. Regardless, were you to call "FOUL!" on this play, you would be in for a $hitstorm, and you would deserve it! Of course, no matter WHAT you called on this play, you might GET a $hitstorm, whether deserved or not. JM
