I had a long rebuttal to dispute Steve's thoughts of the trick question. However, after re-reading the question, I think he's right.

The way the question is worded leads you away from the wording in the rules. The runner "shall touch his base after the batted ball has been caught by a fielder" is not correct.

FALSE. Same thing ManInBlue said. Its not a trick question, it was exactly how it was worded. It's a good question for a FED cert.

That's why I said "so called" trick question. The question is designed to appear to be a true statement, knowingly misleading the test taker.

Not a trick question, but intentionally designed to fool some of the people some of the time.

I'll admit it. It got me. Thanks for the "twist" Steve.

I tried to find the "context of the question." I was WRONG!!!!

Steve's reply made me read the rule. It's (the rule book) verbiage makes the question/answer become obvious.

I'd be the first to acknowledge that FED has used some weird wording at times that seems designed to fool some...but this isn't one of those times. This is a straightforward assessment of knowledge of the accurate wording of a rule. A reasonable expectation of a rules test.

Well....it could certainly fool someone who doesn't know the correct answer!
