Good thing you mentioned that the PU only gets R2 at third "if he tags" only if there is an R1... I've been covering when there is an R2 only. Time to fix that!! Once again, Garth makes me a better umpire, little by little. haha |

But what flaws do you have on other basic mechanics? It may be a long time before the Garth compilation of posts includes all 2 man mechanics. It may be time to read a book. |

Steve - Brian is Mike Reilly's nephew. He's in his 2nd (or 3rd) year at AAA and is an instructor at Harry's.
Garth - Please ask them about it and get back to me with the response. I'd be very curious to see how much of it I've got screwed up. I'm pretty confident about PU covering 3B. I am now questioning my comments about BU going home. |

Anyway - Paul did fungos on the field with us and stressed PU getting to 3B when he could. |

tried to send a non-flaming PM rather than post for the world to see, but it would not allow it.
the post you have up there about 2 man mechanics is just about entirely incorrect, some of which you've accepted, and some of which you refuse to. whether you misunderstood brian, or brian messed up in his teaching is moot. though i've never been to harry's, they teach the same thing that jimmy's does, and i've been to jimmy's for a bunch of years in a row now (no, not for my varsity letterman jacket.) both schools teach out of the red book, and the red book says PU covers on a tag up only with R1 and R2, and not with R2 only. |
