Ed Montague
Is there something wrong with Ed Montague's right arm?
He is working the plate and calls strikes by punching his left arm to the right. Does anyone know what's up with this? Hold the phone, he has just been replaced behind home plate. He was nailed on the right wrist by a foul ball earlier in the game. He was hangin' tough, but he has succumbed to the pain. Never mind. Now this is the official umpire injury thread

Last night during the Phillies/Padres game, there was a long fly ball to left, U3 went out on the ball. Chris Guccione, the 2nd base umpire rotated over to take R1 (Milton Bradley) to 3rd. He was watching for the throw. Nobody was covering 3rd, and Phillies pitcher Adam Eaton was hustling over to cover 3rd. He too was watching for the throw. . . .
TRAIN WRECK! Down went Eaton and Guccione. Guccione hurt his leg a bit, and Eaton tweaked his shoulder. Both continued, but it looked gnarly. (yeah, I know, nobody says that anymore. I'm a dinosaur.)
