My interaction was with my nephew's coaching staff, not the umpire. He did not address me at all.

I agree. I have always heard it that way and I've always played that way. As for little League I'm not sure on the rules there, but I would figure they were close to the same.

Heaven forbid the league from ordering rules books for their volunteers.

Order a CD if you insist on reading up on rules that the league will not provide.
