Im not a fantasy-baseball player, but I found the MLB umpire 'statistics' interesting....

How does the writer pen this on 7/21 and have only 20 games per ump?

BTW, Eddie Rap is a friend of mine ... and I don't think his zone is the "postage stamp" that Bucknor uses.

Because he is recording plate games. It would take an MLB umpire about 80 games to get 20 plate games.

And some have even less, because they were call-ups during the season.

This info is also probably just a portion of the 'umpire analysis' that the teams and players go through as well. I am sure the hitters are well-aware of which umpires have a big-zone rep and which do not.

Here is an interesting web site for gambling which contains in depth statistics for all MLB umpires. The main page has to do with the "homer" factor, or what percentage of games the home team won with each umpire. Just click on the umpire of your choice for his complete stats.

Cranial fletus. My bad.

Interesting stuff, but sooo much depends upon who's pitching. If an ump, say, had three dish jobs in a row with big K chuckers on the hill, this could skew things.

Yeah, its kinda hard to analyze an MLB umpire strike zone when he's out doing the bases lol

Ahhh using the "homer" factor, another one of those great sucker bets.
