did you ever think maybe the catcher and batter moved forward instead of the PU moving back?

if they did it was because his knees were in the slot

...and the grounds crew moved the plate, mound and planted new grass for different baselines, while the coaches moved the bases. :D

...don't forget the backstop, fences, dugouts, fans, irate parents, concession stand, movie theatre, laudry-mat, and 2 fast food franchises

I'M wondering who taught the catcher to hold his bare hand IN FRONT OF his shin protector like that.

Maybe the umpire's a left over infielder wannabee. He likes to crouch and creep up as the pitch is being delivered.
