Where have I heard that before?

By the way, I balked a pitcher for moving toward the plate, then turning to second.

That's a good balk to HOME, for not throwing the pitch to the plate. Lots of Lefty's make that move, with the free foot to wards the plate, then swing it around to pick off the runner at first. BALK !

i guess i should clarify. if a right hander spins left, while not stepping off and throws to second, i'll balk him. Basically it's a balk for moving towards home without throwing. same goes for a left hander spinning right. Rare, but it happens.

Alex:

As long as the right handed pitcher doesn't bring his knee up to balance, buckles it toward third, or rotates it toward the plate he can spin left and legally throw to second without disengaging as long as the base is occupied.
